Party time!
So what happens when a girl who blogs about food decides to have a baby with her husband…
and loses her ability to cook?
It’s true! Not only can I not eat, look at, or smell food cooking, I am battling a horrid case of afternoon sickness. Yep, sometime between 2-4 in the afternoon, that sick-to-my-stomach feeling comes creepin’ in. But, it’s starting to get better! I’m slowly starting to feel human again, and eating things other than fruit and soups!
I had a little bit of a “baby scare” (don’t...

New Years: Lentils and Milkshakes!
Happy New Year, everyone!!!!
This year, my husband and I are currently curled up in bed watching Football. Our kids are all out doing their own fun things, and given my pregnancy, I’m not quite sure I’ll even SEE the ball drop.

Well folks, it’s true.
I’m expecting!!!!!
Hubby and I got married in June, decided to try for a baby and…well, here we are in our first trimester.

Day after Thanksgiving Soup
Turkey day is, without question, one of my favorite days to celebrate.
Food.
Family.
Friends.
Wine.
The warm oven, the smells, the tastes, the laughter. I love the gathering, and I love the rewards for a weeks’ worth of cooking, shopping, and prepping!
I love the Food Network specials, the warm house, the kids’ excitement.
This year, I did what I always do, and brined my bird. What I did this year that I haven’t done in years past is buying straight from a farm! He was “processed” Tuesday morning, and once he...

30. Stripped.
Well, yesterday was one of the days that I’ve been thinking about for a while. Dreading, even. Something that’s been difficult for me to both comprehend and appreciate.
I turned thirty.
For the preceding weeks, it’s felt like a suffocatingly toxic and horrendous event that’s happened that took me by complete surprise.
But in reflecting, it finally came to me…I accept it. And here’s why:
While 30 years is quite a long time to learn lessons (and trust me, I have), I think each experience gives you a different...
